THE WEIGHT AND HUMIDITY OF SCOTS PINE NEEDLE IN TREES OF DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF RESIN PRODUCTIVITY

Abstract


Some results of the research of features of accumulation of needle mass and moisture for determining representative indicators of high resin productive forms of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) are presented. The trees with high resin productivity and absolutely dry mass of the needle exceed the trees with low productivity. At the same time, the needle humidity of high resin productive trees is significantly lower with respect to trees with low productivity. It is found that a significant correlation of resin productive trees with the needle of low resin productive trees. Low humidity of needles of the high resin productive trees indicates that they are characterized by much more active hydrocarbon metabolism.
