Abstract

A single-factor dispersion analysis of the effectiveness of edge-grained lumber output during cutting softwood logs by segment sawing for various size groups of log diameter at various ratios of crosscut log ellipticity is made. Such qualitative factors as curvature and length of the log are considered. The results of the research conducted show that with increase of size group of the logs diameter, crosscut ellipticity change increasingly affects the output of edge-grained lumber downward.
