CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE OF PROFILE WORKPIECES OF WOOD DURING HEATING IN A GASEOUS ENVIRONMENT

Abstract


We consider the physical phenomenon of heating wood. Some physical properties such as density and moisture on the specific heat of beech wood during heating are defined. It was found that when heated in small quantities moisture content and relative density, specific heat and specific consumption of heat change. The study was conducted in laboratory drying plant. Wood properties were determined by the classical method before and after heating. For the experimental determination of the dynamics of change in the temperature of two experimental samples of wood (beech logs) with an equivalent diameter of 20 and 12 centimetres were chosen. Two temperature sensors (thermocouple) were inserted in the middle of samples to a depth x=0,15R and x=R. Wood temperature was recorded over a certain period of time. Thus, we have obtained a temperature dependence of the surface and central layers of wood depending on the duration of heating. Experimental dependence was described by empirical formulas.
