Abstract

The inspection of Pacific red cedar Thuja plicata biogroup of big size which had been formed on the place of former transplant nursery and also five parks with small groupments of this species in some degree compensated the absence of its typical forest plantings. The potential productivity of these groupments was evaluated by their classes of bonitet. The classes of bonitet of the all inspected park groupments were higher, than the class of bonitet of the biogroup in Zadwirja village, where the growth of T. plicata had been inhibited by marl layer in soil depth. The growth of the best biogroups corresponds to the 1st class of bonitet. According to obtained data we can recommend creating experimental forest plantings of T. plicata for obtaining more reliable conclusions in the prospect.
