Abstract

Improvement thinning in oak-spruce stands in Podillya region is carried out. A comparison of the performance of pure oak forest and oak forest with the introduction of spruce is made. The characteristic of oak and spruce plantations with different improvement thinning and intensity of cutting is presented. The dynamic of taxation parameters of stands is investigated. According to the studies we determined the prevalence of overall performance with the introduction of spruce stands in the composition of the stands; the optimal intensity and timing of the cuts; marked increase in productivity of oak with early cutting of spruce and approach to optimal performance parameters of productivity.
